La exposición Homenaje y Memoria. Centernario Salvador Allende. Obras del Museo de la Solidaridad encabezará las actividades programadas para la celebración del centenario del nacimiento del Presidente Salvador Allende y está organizada por la Fundación Salvador Allende, la Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior de España (SEACEX) el Museo de la Solidaridad y el Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda. Se celebrará del 27 de junio al 16 de agosto en el Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda, en Santiago de Chile.

Comisariada por Mariano Navarro, el objetivo de la exposición es recordar y señalar la importancia de un proyecto artístico nacido de la voluntad internacional, con la idea revolucionaria de la solidaridad entre los hombres y los pueblos del mundo y que se consolidó en el Museo de la Solidaridad. Homenaje y Memoria quiere reconstruir la propia historia del Museo, establecer la conexión existente entre las ideas expuestas por muchos de los artistas participantes y el proyecto político del Presidente Allende, trazar el desarrollo internacional del arte en ese tiempo y, por último, ser una propuesta de colaboración entre artistas chilenos y españoles a la que se ha contribuido con la donación de obra ya realizada y con la creación de piezas específicas para esta exposición que pasarán, desde este momento, a ser propiedad del Museo de la Solidaridad de la Fundación Arte y Solidaridad. La muestra acogerá más de 140 obras de destacados artistas, como Joan Miró, Rafael Canogar, Frank Stella, Alexander Calder, Pierre Soulager, Gracia Barrios o Antoni Tàpies entre otros.
